About this artifact

This engraving depicts the landfall view of Cumberland Bay on Isla Mas a Tierra (Robinson Crusoe Island), which was once known as the Island of Juan Fernandez. It is from the book "Commodore George Anson's Voyage Around the World". A landfall view is what this island would have looked like from the water.
