August The 2.th1837.
Wednesday 2. All this day Light winds and fine weather Stearing to the westward Employment in Ship's duty. painted one of our spair boats which we shall take for a waist boat and keap the old one for a nock round boat boat in poart. Lat 34.31 N. Long 149.34 W.
Thursday 3. All this day Light winds and fine weather Stearing W. by S. Lat 34. 31 N.
All this day which is the 4th Light winds and fine Wether Employed in Ships duty

at 10. AM. Saw several large whails in company with the Ship vineyard we loward from both Ship's the vinyards Starbore boat got the chance furst and mist him they all went of out ot reach.

Light wind and fine wether at 7. AM, rose a School of whales to the windward, the vineyard vinevard being to the windward had the chance we all loward the vinevard got 4 whales capt Daget got fast and Lost a Line and got nothing the 4 whales we tuck to our Ship and commenst cutting Long 151.30
Sunday 6. All this day Light winds and Light rains First part employed in cutting in Latter part cleaning away heads and commenst boiling. Lat 33.34
Monday 7. All this day Light winds and rain Squals Employed in boiling som bothered with the rain varible winds. Lat 34.34 N. Long 151.57 W.
